Disadvantages: Bit pricey and now I can't move off the sofa!

**Cinema without the train fare!**

-Squint or spend?

I recently moved house and ended up with a living room that's not massive but is very long. Having spent some time getting the old furniture to fit in acceptably I sat down one night exhausted to watch the TV, only to discover that it was miles away and I couldn't read the teletext! What was I to do? The sofa wouldn't fit any nearer and after a couple of nights of squinting I decided to throw caution to the wind and set off to the TV shop.

-It's a biggie

I returned home with an enormous box full of polystyrene - no chance of damaging the product en route home. Luckily it also contained everything I needed to set up my LG 42 LF 66 in time for Corrie.
I unpacked my 42 inch flat screen TV. It was pretty heavy and I needed help to get it unpacked safely. It balances on quite a small pedestal stand which fixes into the centre. This is very attractive and sleek but is slightly difficult to put together (not like my previous tele which sat on its own bottom!)
Successfully lifted and clipped on it looked stylish - black flat front screen with a shiny wipeable frame. There are no buttons visible and only the LG logo below the screen to take the eye.

-How much?

I have found this TV from between £480 and £650. I managed to pay £520 so didn't do too badly!

-Switch on

The on/off; volume; input; menu; select and programme buttons are discreetly tucked away just behind the right side and are labelled. Of course it all worked by remote too and the handset (also sleek black) is well set out and coloured. The remote is also nicely ergonomically moulded..... for my hand of course... not the rest of the family!

-How to

The instruction book is lengthy and detailed and even I managed to comprehend it! The 2 scart plugs on the rear are easily accessible. Also on the back: the antennae; pcmcia card slot; 2 x hdmi slots; 1 digital audio out; 1 rs232c in; 1pc in; 1 audio in; component in slots; s video slot; 3 coloured inputs for dvd / gamimg etc all labelled and accessible should you so desire!

-Listen..

The speaker sound is fantastic. The speaker runs along the front of the screen along the base. It has surround sound and is very vivid.

-Cinema

Without dominating the room in its off position, when in use this TV is like having the cinema at home. The picture has strong colours, there is no picture fade anywhere on the screen and the small frame around the edge means that the picture seems really big.

-Can it get better?

This huge TV is HD ready. This is not something I have investigated yet but with the picture being so impressive as it is I can't say I'm desperate for it to get any better!
