The SD picture quality initially was a little disconcerting, slightly 'blocky' - but this, I have found on many friends HD tvs , freeviews signal can be quite compressed at time and dark areas will show pixelization. This is not the fault of the tv though.

I bought this TV in April 2011 for £629 - this was and still is an excellent price for such a large TV. I have this in my bedroom - initially is looked ridiculously large, but as you all know , TV's have a habit of 'shrinking' over time to their surroundings and it looks great once your used to the size.
