Advantages: Great picture quality, easy to navigate menus, great for hassle free movie watching

Disadvantages: Poor picture quality from Nintendo Wii

I bought this TV as an early Christmas present for my husband and I. It was slightly more money than I wanted to spend but as it was 3D and came with 4 sets of 3D glasses and it's a "smart" TV with 1080p full HD and my husband said it had a very good refresh rate I thought I'd go the extra mile... I'm so glad I did.

The TV was well packaged and easy to assemble onto the stand, it just screws in. The menus are easy to navigate and it's easy to find your way around everything to set up the TV exactly how you want it. It also comes with extra fittings so that you can convert things you want to hook up into USB to make it easier as there's no scart socket but we didn't have an issue with that.

We upgraded from a 32" LG. The new fancy 47" links wirelessly through your wifi so you can view films from a laptop (when it's on and in a different room) direct through the TV without the laptop being hooked up to the TV. Another bonus is that you can plug an external hard drive into the TV and access all the menus easily from the TV remote control, there's no fiddling hooking it to the laptop and then the laptop to the TV, you can literally just plug it into the TV and away you go! An added benefit of this is that you can pause watching a film from the laptop or hard drive with the remote so you don't have to get up to pause on the laptop. There's also wireless streaming of Netflix and Lovefilm (if you want to use them as they are chargeable from the individual sites) as well as others, which can be done direct from the "smart" application installed on the TV.

The 3D aspect can be turned on or off in the menu very easily and it's nice to have the option to do this though we use it very rarely. The picture quality is wonderful - my father in law came round to watch a film with us and he said it was like seeing the film for the first time (it was Avatar we put on too, one of his favourites!). The picture was clear and all the action sequences were very clear with no blurry parts. The sound is also excellent, the speakers are very good and the sound can be turned very loud - not so good for neighbours!

The only downside I have found is when I hook my Nintendo Wii up to the TV the picture isn't great. It's watchable, but not as clear as if you're watching the TV or a film. It's slightly crackly as though the connection is a bit faulty so we will have to investigate that.

Having said that, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking for great picture quality and who finds it a hassle to watch films through a laptop / external hard drive. This TV makes everything very simple and it's very easy to use.

Summary: Overall an excellent TV with great features that I now wouldn't be without
