Advantages: the price-i paid £400, comparable screen quality to the more expensive makes

Disadvantages: only 2 scart sockets, takes a couple of seconds to change channel

boxing day morning my daughter came running up the stairs really upset. The telly's broken! she said, so i went to have a look, as she wanted to watch cbeebies. i thought she'd perhaps pressed the wrong button and changed the channel, but no, the tv was on standby and wouldnt turn on. Conveniently it was boxing day, so there were sales on everywhere. We had a look in a couple of shops and didnt really see any brilliant deals-even went to Makros, but no. i had convinced my husband (who actually wanted a 42 inch) that as our old tv was only 26 inches that the 32 inch was more than big enough. that is until we went into Currys. The tvs were flying off the shelves as they had alot of offers on. we found the 32 inch orion, working looked great, then we saw the 37 inch-only £450.00! there was a version with a built in digibox that was £500, but we already have virgin, so didnt need it. i stood by the tv-it is huge by the way-we didnt realise how big 37 inch tvs looked until we got it home-the 42 inch wouldnt have actually fitted in the corner we have the tv in! My husband went to get the salesman and he went off to sort it out, only to come back and tell us that they were out of stock, but they would do us the £500 one for £475 if we wanted. but i said would he give us a discount on the display one-ended up getting it for £400 with a years warrenty still. bargain! went to see the 37 inch lcd tvs in argos next door and they were a good £200 more to start.

The tv is a really smart black-we have got the completely black model and it looks really nice. The picture quality is great-i think the actual screen panel is made by Sony-there are only a couple of manufacturers that make the panels and then sell them to other companies for the inside and cover and branding.

the sound quality is good-i dont think it goes that loud, but i find the volume on most tvs too much anyway-i have it just over halfway and can clearly hear it upstairs in my house, so more than enough.

the only thing i could put it down for is that when you change the channel it isnt instant, it takes a second or two of black screen-a really minor complaint for the price in my eyes. My husband said he'd have liked another scart socket-theres two, which i think alot of tvs only have anyway. Overall it is a brilliant tv, and i cant believe we got such a good deal-everyone is shocked when they ask how much it was. definately a good buy!

Summary: for the price, its a great tv-even without the price its great! you wont find a better deal.

I found the review a little difficult to read and could be spread out a little better, the info is great and helpful but try putting through word so its easier to read and more enjoyable.
