Last year my old tube TV finally died. I was behind the times and I knew it, everyone had a flatscreen TV, but I had one of those old wood effect TVs with buttons and no remote until a few years back, so to make the decision to buy a flatscreen was very difficult. But it had to be done. And so I decided on the Panasonic TX-L19E3B, because it was on offer.
It isn't that big a screen, only 19inches, which sounded a lot to my mathematically challenged brain, but it turned out to be only slightly bigger than my laptop. After I took it out the box and put it on the giant tv stand in my huge living room, it looked a bit silly.
Ease of Use
It's easy enough to set up your TV, just plug it in and then you can get to using the built in freeview to scan for available channels. The scan takes a while, but is easy enough to do. Of course I allowed my husband to do most of the set-up, but it was easy enough. To watch something you simply turn it on and press the guide on your remote and choose your programme.
Despite it's small size, it isn't a wallflower. Is sits in the corner of my room and I have no problem seeing the TV at all, I can see clear details and colours and the picture really is crisp and perfect, with realistic and true colours.
The sound quality is excellent, loud and clear and not at all tinny, even though the speakers are obviously as small as the TV. I have never had a problem hearing any TV show.
This TV will set you back nearly £300 and considering the size of the screen, it can be tempting to wonder what you are paying for. But you are obviously paying the money for quality, not size. Panasonic is well known for making quality electrical, and this TV is no different.
Is it worth the high cost? Yes and No. Yes, it is excellent quality and provides the perfect picture and sound for watching anything but no, because for a little more than that price I could have got a bigger TV that perhaps isn't as good quality. It really comes down to quantity over quality. And although the size has proved no problem for me, a bigger TV would be better.
