      A great TV

We had this television at home when I lived with my parents and overall I have to say it has left me with quite a few good memories of sitting watching films with the folks.

It's a great looking TV! It has a nice little silver stand, its thin black frame makes the TV look bigger. I'd say the 42 inches is the perfect size for any tv. Not too big or too small, its great for watching films on and playing games is awesome as its full HD.

The frame rate is quite good and you can easily watch films and play games with no worry of bad quality or lagging.

My Dad only ended up paying a few hundred for the model as he bought it off a mate. You can get it for about £300-400 off amazon marketplace though.

Overall I would recommend this set as it looks good, has full HD which is class for watching blu-ray films and for playing games. It has 3 HDMI outputs which is useful as I liked to play on my PS3 when living at home.

      Fantastic

This is a magnificent TV as it has an amazing picture quality with it being full HD. This is TV is capable of giving you that little bit extra with an incredibly sharp picture quality with all of the colours being spot on and pretty much better than the colours in any TV I have seen prior to this one due to them being so rich in colour and life like. As the TV is a massive 42inches this means that you will be easily immersed in what is happening on the screen and with all of the fantastic quality images you will not want to go back to any other TV.

The TV comes with built in Freeview which means that basically if you do not want things like Sky TV then you will still have a lot of channels to pick from with good quality and good shows. The TV also has a slot for a USB device which means that you can play music, photos or videos through it which again if you do not have thing like Sky can still watch lots of different programs that way.

The TV is a smart TV and can be connected to your WiFi which is brilliant as it lets you watch videos from sites like YouTube straight to your TV. Amazingly it also lets you do things like play music or videos through the TV that are on your iPhone.

There is enough space to have things like a Sky box, playstation and an xbox all connected to the TV and you should notice a difference in the quality of the games you play through this TV which is a bonus.

To install this TV it is basically a plug it in job with a tune up to get all the Freeview channels and then a quick setup to get the WiFi to work.

At £300 I cannot recommend this TV more especially if it is for a whole family as everyone is bound to love it instantly.

A fantastic bit of kit with a good price point.

I am massively impressed with this TV, I spent a lot of time looking at other brands and models before finding this one. The price of the unit is very competitive, You can spend a little less and get a TV without the smart features but I would highly recommend digging that bit deeper and going Smart.

Setting the unit up was for the most part; simple and straight forward. installing the stand was a little tricky so have someone standing by to help. I was able to connect to my WIFI out of the box, this brings a lot of useful extras and toys knows as apps, there are a few preloaded and more can be downloaded from the Viera Connect Market, everything from weather and news to TV guides, games, BBC iPlayer, Netflix and even FaceBook. All the Apps can be arranged on custom home screens which con be created using a selection of templates.

There is also a feature called Media Server with enables you to stream content from just about any computer on your home network to the TV, there is a little bit of setting up and extra software needed on the computer but its free and easy to get up and running.

Other good features include a dynamic backlighting system, it real world terms this means in a dark room the TV uses less energy as the back lighting can be turn down. You can also have the TV turn off if the remote is not used for a set amount of time (useful if you rush out the door in the morning and forget to turn it off)

There are 2 USB ports that can be used for playing videos, listing to music or viewing photos, the manual states the TV may not work with all USB Hard Disks but I have found it to read and play content from all of mine. the menu is simple to use and navigate but I haven't found it to be the best. I think that it would be better suited to occasional use.

The start up time is fast, I have noticed that a lot of new TVs seam to take an age from turning it on the being able to use it, this one isn't instant but its not slow.

The picture is perfect, its sharp, clear and a full HD movie looks awesome, I haven't noticed any ghosting or other annoying anomalies such as backlight leaking. The contrast is truly amazing, the blacks are black and the white is white.

The sound is properly the biggest letdown, its more than adequate for everyday watching but lacks any real depth.

The design of the unit is wonderful, the tiny bezel and thin form allows the unit to disappear into almost any room. The silver colour is a refreshing change from the black that dominates most of the market.

The price places the TV in about the middle of the market, you can spend less and not have the smart features but I think they are a worth while investment that will improve as more apps become available, equally you could spend more but I honestly don't think that you would see many other advantages in the same range.
