Panasonic TX-28PL10D ... Cyclops. Just think about the last time your telly suffered from an operating problem, and how badly your life was affected by its absence from operational Nirvana. I know in my case the experience was traumatic, and called into question the entire validity of my married life. Anyway, bleary eyed, rambling, incoherent prelude over, let us embark upon the material for this evening. Panasonic make great television sets. Widescreen TV's are the new black. Panasonic TX-32PK20 ... and the top and bottom are of same thickness. Many 32" tvs look small due to the illusion created by a large surround to the screen!! Sound, although only stereo is good, bass is excellent, with no cabinet rattles at modest volumes. Used with an AV amp and full compliment of speakers though, you almost have your own in home cinema! ( ours has certainly been used as such many times) Panasonics never seem to have many 'gadgets' on their tvs, but in my mind, if the picture is good, then isn't that what a tv is for? Panasonic TX-32PK3 ... Quintrix tubes are widely admired, but the sets that use them are (understandably) expensive. This set seems to be Panasonics attempt to produce a Quintrix set that will capture some sales from those with less than <GBP>1000 to spend. It's quickly apparent that the corners that have been cut are in 2 areas; superfluous features (it has NICAM sound and 50Hz display), and components/ circuit design. The former area is fine; as A/V recievers and DVD video players become cheaper, the sound facilities of the TV (which should devolve into little more than a monitor) become less and less important.
