This XGA display with state-of-the-art LCD screen technology has a widescreen HD resolution of 1024 x 768p pixels. It produces brilliant flicker-free progressive scan pictures with optimum brightness and superb colors. This vibrant and sharp image will provide you with an enhanced viewing experience.

Crystal Clear III combines a whole range of enhancements to provide a better picture. They include a 2D Comb filter, Dynamic contrast, Blue stretch and Green enhancement so that you always get the most natural looking colors.

Progressive Scan doubles the vertical resolution of the image resulting in a noticeably sharper picture. Instead of sending a field comprising the odd lines to the screen first, followed by the field with the even lines, both fields are written at one time. A full image is created instantaneously, using the maximum resolution. At such a speed, your eye perceives a sharper picture with no line structure.

Incredible Surround is an audio technology from Philips that dramatically magnifies the sound field to immerse you in the audio. Using state-of-the-art electronic phase shifting, Incredible Surround mixes sounds from left and right in such a way that it expands the virtual distance between the two speakers. This wider spread greatly enhances the stereo effect and creates a more natural sound dimension. Incredible Surround allows you to experience total surround with greater depth and width of sound, without the use of additional speakers.

The teletext is a common system transmitted by most broadcasters. The 1000 page smart text feature gives you extremely fast access to information when changing pages.

HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image. The non-degraded signal reduces flicker and leads to a clearer picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the highest output resolution with the source device. The HDMI input is fully backward compatible with DVI sources but includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP copy protection.

With PC input you can connect your TV to a computer and use the TV as a PC monitor.

I bought one of these just over a year ago when they were about £400 - now much cheaper (sob sob) - but I'm not bitter! I don't use the HD ready so can't really comment on that but my standard sky plus box looks good playing through it with a nice crystal clear picture. I will say the menu options are a bit fiiddly to get used to - I'm forever mashing the picture options function when I'm looking for mute, or vice versa. The remote control's buttons are a little fiddly but to be honest this seems to be the same with most TV's these days, with the possible exception of Sony. room. Overall this TV/pc screen has performed excceptinaly well and i have it quite a while now. I would definitly recomend buying a screen to use for both and this shouldnt be too hard as most of the LCD TV s today also have pc input which means you can plug a VGA cable into them and fire away with your pc! Therefore in my opinion this was a great buy and also a bargain as i got two displays for the price of one! If your looknig already at a tv of this size then i would certainly recomend this phillips as it perfroms excellent each and every day i use... as it is right ...
