Advantages: Picture and sound quality are very good, looks great
Disadvantages: freeview receiver is a let down
I have owned my Phillips LCD 32PFL5522 for a little over a year now and I must say I have been very impressed with it. I had concerns about the screen size not being large enough with so many 37", 40" and larger out on the market but for the average room size, it looks perfect.
The sleak gloss black surround looks very good, however, can reflect the sun into your eyes at certain angles. It is wall mountable however it doesn't come with the bracket so this will be an additional cost, but the glass pedistal its provided with looks great and allows large angles of lateral rotation.
The picture quality is very good, especially utilising the 720p HD ability by using Blu-ray or a HD TV signal. The TV comes with Freeview built-in however, this has to be my main problem with this television, it often looses the Freeview signal completely even though there is a strong signal in my area and to regain the freeview requires a full channel scan which can be annoying especially if something is on which you want to watch.
It is provided with 2 HDMI connections which is ample for my needs but is not as good as many sets on the market. The sound quality is excellent and when at full volume is extremely loud.
Overall the television is very good for the price. The Freeview lets the set down a little but if you use sky or virgin TV then this is not a problem. I would give the set an 8/10.
Summary: A Great picture for a good price
