Advantages: Brilliant Picture Quality - Brilliant T.V
Disadvantages: None
My best LCD in the house. I was never very sure about Philips as I had always heard mixed feelings about them. But when you decide to buy a 42" LCD T.V you want something that has great specifications and looks great for a reasonable price.
So when we stumbled upon this one in Comet we really thought it was too good to be true. It was £749.99 a year ago and now about £649.99 is you shop about for it. Dimensions are - 124 cm x 28 cm x 73.4 cm which is when it's measured with it's stand (It does look better on the wall). It's a black gloss colour which is nice and shiny. It comes with built in freeview so you no longer require a digital box gathering dust and taking up room.
It's HD ready like most LCD t.v's, when we took it home and set it up we were shocked at how good the picture quality was on this t.v compared to our other widescreen t.v. It has a dynamic contrast which basically means that depending on how bright your room is it alter the brightness on the screen automatically via a sensor on the front of the t.v.
The sound quality on the t.v is good and when it's up loud it doesn't sound crackly or echoing like other ones do. I have never had any problems with it at all and for the price I really do think I got a great deal.
