The Philips 42PF9831 is one of the best Large screen LCD televisions available at this moment in time. Apart from being able to show off the superb full Ambilight Technology, it also benefits from the excellent philips technology Pixel Plus 3. This HD Ready TV is capable of displaying upto 720p resolution, and has a contrast ratio of 4500:1. The contrast ratio on any TV is the difference between light and dark colours. So for example any picture that is supposed to be black will be black, on tvs with a low contrast ratio will look more of a grey colour.
