What it is like
A few months ago my mate Ben got a new TV. His family has a bit more money than mine, so they bought the Phillips 42PFL7662D. It is an expensive TV but also an amazing quality one. I would say that it is around the same as mine, which makes the price a bit too much as mine was around a hundred pounds cheaper. The picture quality is sharp and the sound is crisp and clear. We have watched a fair few movies on this and every one has been very enjoyable. It is a widescreen, flat TV and also 42". It has an electronic program guide which is very useful. The "1000 page hypertext" is made to give fast access to teletext. As well as this it is full HD. This makes the picture flicker free and amazing quality. The intergrated DVB-T tuner makes it possible to recieve digital terrestrial to watch or record without a set top box or additional leads. As well as all this it has two HDMI sockets so that you can hook up external video players.

summary
Ok. It has a few little extras, but i don't think it is worth the extra money. If the price was a hundred pounds less, i am sure many people would snap them up. Having said that, me and Ben have enjoyed hours watching movies on this and chilling out. It is great quality for picture and sound and those are the main things for the TV to need, in my opinion. If you have the money, then i would still reccomend a cheaper one. That may be because i can't stand the idea of anyone spending this much money on a TV, but it's mainly because you can get just as good a TV for cheaper.
It is available from amazon for £749.99. The "Used and new" are also from £749.99.
