A few days later after gathering some information from friends who are a lot more techno minded than us we tried again. We had been completely seduced by the flat, bright screens and knew it was worth spending more to get good quality. Philips 15PF4121 ... have a 15" widescreen LCD Philips TV, it was about £270 a couple of summers ago. I have had absolutely no problems with it. It has good picture quality, good sound and is rather stylish. he speakers are on each side of the screen and there are a couple of small lights at the bottom left speaker. The buttons are hidden along the top of the TV and are easy to distinguish and press. The connections are all hidden on the back under the TV tube, they are rather awkward to get to but easy enough to set up. It could do with another scart connection though. Philips 37PF5520D ... 37PF5520D/10. Catchy title for a telly or what? Why do these guys do that? There must be a reason. It s probably got something to do with mass production. One brand, so many variations - can t name them all. I now have 3 children but if, following a miraculous reconnecting of my Vas Deferens, I were to have another, I would not be calling him or her Jones 45Fy23d. It s too hard for teachers. Anyway, this is a rental job. I gave up buying after 2 went kaput a few weeks after their respective warranties. Imagine Asian workers smirking whilst programming the self-destruct circuitry.
