about televisions, I would normally think that you plug it in and off you go, how wrong I was. WHAT INFLUENCED MY CHOICE I finally settled for the S Samsung 37" this trumped any ideas of a plasma screen as I had read so many horrific reviews on how plasma screens get damaged easily, lost picture quality and the pixels die easily leaving you with little black patches. plasmas over coal fires, not a problem for us in the bedroom but was for the two we had bought previously for downstairs. We have a Phillips and a S Samsung downstairs, and whilst both are very good televisions, the Samsung is far far better than the Philips and actually a lot better than a lot of our friends televisions in my opinion and so for this reason I decided the new one would be a Samsung. I have my tv connected to cable + a dvd player + a video player and it all works fine and dandy. I dread having to set up t.v.s but the S Samsung was ok. The remote control is easy to operate. I have had the t.v for around four years now and there has been no problem. I m glad about this because this was a worry when I bought it over the internet (I didn t want to return it in the post!) The only downside is that the shiny black surface can show the dust. It needs cleaning with a very soft cloth because I put a few marks on the base once in my vigorous cleaning ...
