about televisions, I would normally think that you plug it in and off you go, how wrong I was. WHAT INFLUENCED MY CHOICE I finally settled for the S Samsung 37" this trumped any ideas of a plasma screen as I had read so many horrific reviews on how plasma screens get damaged easily, lost picture quality and the pixels die easily leaving you with little black patches. I looked into what it would cost to replace the every failing tubes on a plasma and to be honest I would have been better buy a new Television, so I thought that the plasma was defiantly the wrong way to go. plasmas over coal fires, not a problem for us in the bedroom but was for the two we had bought previously for downstairs. We have a Phillips and a S Samsung downstairs, and whilst both are very good televisions, the Samsung is far far better than the Philips and actually a lot better than a lot of our friends televisions in my opinion and so for this reason I decided the new one would be a Samsung. I have my tv connected to cable + a dvd player + a video player and it all works fine and dandy. I dread having to set up t.v.s but the S Samsung was ok. The remote control is easy to operate. I have had the t.v for around four years now and there has been no problem. I m glad about this because this was a worry when I bought it over the internet (I didn t want to return it in the post!) The only downside is that the shiny black surface can show the dust. It needs cleaning with a very soft cloth because I put a few marks on the base once in my vigorous cleaning ...
