Had this TV in my room at University for the last year and it has more than justified its price. For a relatively small fee it has fulfilled all the duties I have asked of it and would have expected from it.
It has a nice looking, sleek screen and fits perfectly on my desk. It is has, I found, pretty good value in that the image quality is perhaps better than I had expected. My room is not that spacious, and to be able to find a TV such as this one for such a reasonable price that I could fit into where I wanted it. There are plenty of options in terms of visual and audio preferences that meant I was soon able to adapt the TV to act how I pleased - a major plus point for me!
The only flaw with this TV that I found would probably be the existence of only one HDMI slot. Although I didn't really need to utilize another slot, at times I found myself wanting to use another and I couldn't. I have since been advised that I could have easily gone out and found a HDMI switch box which are apparently not too pricey so this may have been a feasible option.
Everyone has a TV and everyone expects different things. Some focus on the sound quality, some on the picture while others choose simply by the design and look of the equipment. With this Samsung TV almost everyone will be pleased with the results.
With full HD compatibility and in built freeview this is a modern TV for people who are looking to upgrade from their old Analogue sets and doesn't require a subscription to satellite channels as you get over 100 (including radio stations) with the freeview built in.
My main use is for HD gaming with a PS3 console connected via HDMI cable to the TV and I have to say my games have never looked or sounded better!
Is this is a TV for everyone? I would have to say no. This is more of a standard HD TV that probably isn't for the technology oriented consumer. This has all the features you would expect from a modern TV without many extra's. The three HDMI are a bonus but most people will leave these ports unused.
For most reading this looking to purchase a new TV then this is definately worth considering. However,if you looking for the best quality TV then look elsewhere.
samsung always present the best for each product it produces. Especially this product can present a bright picture with excellent sound. setting is also easily done using the remote control. We can also directly relate to the laptop to make it as a second monitor is certainly the view of a more spacious. A balanced composition screen with perfect vision to be displayed on the wall or on a table. Price balanced with the quality displayed by this product. flawless
The picture quality on this samsung is reasonably okay but not as crisp as the Panasonic I have in my bedroom and the sound is equally inferior. My biggest gripe however is the poor quality of it's stand. I really thought that I had not located the base to the tv properly because it didn't click into place as other units do but I hadn't done anything wrong so you have a tv that wobbles on it's base and has a tendency to rock to one side or other and you find yourself having to set it level if something disturbs it and it doesn't take much vibration from any source to cause it to move. For it's price it isn't too bad and it certainly is good looking and picture and sound are acceptable but I can't understand why so simple of things as a more rigid stand wasn't designed. A minor piece of engineering spoils it.
I'll wait until the guarantee expires and then I will secure it properly with glue so set and stand are joined in a strong, loving relationship.
I will give credit where it is due though and have to say that connecting and tuning in really easy and took no time at all.
so about 4 month back, my dad surprisingly gave me this lcd tv for my studio apartment near my college, quite useful for me.
For the design, it's a standart samsung design, minimalistic, elegant, glossy surface with touch button. I actually like those touch button, make it a little bit classy. I also like the feet oval design.
it's support multiple input such as HDMI, RCA ( those yellow-red-white cable), and a usb suport. Sadly, because it just an entry level lcd, it only support picture viewing and music player ( didn;t support video play). i didn;t know the official spec but i've tried 16 gb usb flashdisk and it's work, but it can't load my external SSD HDD ( 50/100 gb) so i presume it only works with flashdisk
AS for the main panel, quite bright but as it only entry level ( again) the color isn't quite accurate. As i often hook my notebook into this via HDMI, i could do almost everything other than editing photos. I actually used it as secondary panel when using corel video.
It support surround but of course the sound become "hollow" ( like playing speaker inside a wood panel) rather than "surround". I just connect it into my 2.1 Hifi and put playthorugh, so the TV speaker play a surround - hollowish sound but covered with bass from my 2.1 Hifi.
Overall, it's quite good for entry level LCD TV.
Personally I tend to fall asleep at night in bed with the TV on, I find it strange and slightly uncomfortable when I stay places where I haven't got this option. So having had a fair number of guests visit recently I wanted to give them the option of watching the TV in their room but didn't want to spend a fortune on a huge screen as it will not be used that much and decided on this Samsung LE-26D450 that I bought online from Tesco Direct after reading some good reviews on it.
We have had many products from Samsung over the years and thus I knew it to be a good quality and reliable brand for electrical equipment. Samsung is a South Korean make and multinational corporation, known for innovative and stylish design. The TV set is a shiny black colour, made of tough reinforced plastic material. Around the rim of the black border is a thin band of transparent plastic that adds a touch of elegance and style to the look of the screen. When turned on this plastic lights up to be a lovely subtle rose/red colour, kind of like mood lighting.
The screen is held up by a small oval shaped stand that is the same colour as the top set and feels very sturdy and secure all in all (though you have to fit it yourself and did take a couple of attempts to get it right!). This is not the thinnest screen you can get, it is about 8cm in depth but it is looks very in proportion to the TV set as a whole. The screen itself is a 26 inch and in total the TV takes up about 66cm length and 50cm height (including the stand). In my opinion Samsung really do make some of the best looking LCD TV screens on the market and this is no exception.
This TV is part of the Samsun Series 4 collection and is full HD which means that its resolution is substantially higher than old television systems, you can really tell the difference between HD ready/old analogue TV's and full HD TV's, though the bigger screen version of this model would show this even more! On this 26 inch screen the colours and shapes are crisp and sharp on the HD screen with the industry standard 1080p image resolution display.
The screen has video resolution of 1366 x 768, built in DNIe+ Picture Engine, high dynamic contrast ratio and a clear motion rate of 50 which creates the great screen picture. The sound spec on this model isDolby Digital Plus and Dolby Pulse with SRS theatre sound, DTS 2.0 + Digital Out and a sound output (RMS): 5W x 2. The sound quality is really good for such a small TV screen, it is clear and with volume does not distort at all.
As with most new TVs you gt the built in freeview channels that you have to tune in yourself. This is very easy to set up and simple to do, we didn't even need to look at the instructions to tune the channels in (though obviously we should for additional features!). The TV also has Teletext, auto-channel search options, Clock/sleep timer and a game mode option for playing XBox/ps3 games.
The TV uses a mains plug and 2 x HDMI output cable which is compatible with all blu ray/dvd players. There is also the option of using a USB input device for any downloads you have got to watch which means the TV can connect effortlessly with movies, music and photos from any device and also a C Audio In (Mini Jack) and PC In (D-sub). The TV comes with a remote control that is a study, good quality and easy to use remote, an optional wall mount support and a power cable. Samsung technology Anynet+ streamlines all media onto one remote control wit ease, so no getting up off the sofa!
We paid £260 for this TV from Tesco Direct and to be honest if it wasn't for the size of it (26 inch) I would be having it in my room, it does seem a bit of a waste to have this used occasionally and it looks so stylish and is simple to use. I am debating upgrading our lounge TV soon and I would definately go for Samsung again. Our guests have been very impressed with it and there have been no issues with reduced sound/visual quality since we have had it (about 2 months). I have absolutely no complaints about this TV, only that I should have bought a bigger one for myself!!
