Advantages: Nice stylish TV from good brand with easy set up and great picture

Disadvantages: Sound lacks a little punch

Spec is at the bottom of this review for those who like to get technical. For those who don't here is my personal review!

I spent ages looking for a good value LCD television (it would seem that LCD and Plasma are all you can get nowadays anyway!). I settled on a 32" screen as this seemed to give the best mix between a big screen experience and not being completely daft in the context of our average sized living room! (For those wondering yes its absolutely perfect, going for a 42" or bigger would have just been ridiculous).

Budget was also a major factor as we didn't want to spend over £350 due to having many small children and banging wooden toys on any available flat surface and fragile LCD screens do not mix!

The first thing that struck me about the Samsung was how stylish it was compared to the other tv's in its price range. It has a very attractive gloss back surround to the LCD thats subtle without appearing tacky as some plastics seem to be.

The TV itself is very light and you can also wall mount this if you like.

On getting it home it was reasonably packaged though I wouldn't have wanted to have trusted having it sent via courier (be warned anyone looking to buy an LCD tv by mail order as the packaging on my tv would NOT have protected the screen from any damage from a sideways impact, ie, something in the back of a transit sliding around and bashing into it).

The TV itself slotted on easily to the stand and the 'Quick Start' function on the TV itself was great if you're too impatient to read the manual.

Reading the manual though is a good idea! The menus although easy to set up from scratch do need a little figuring out if you want to start using some of the more advanced programming features like full menus, favourites, programming schedule in advance that sort of stuff.

The autotuning function is great for both analugue and digital signals and the TV seperates these functions into 2 distinct menus

The picture itself is absolutely fantastic. Obviously its not 1080 quality but if you'd wanted that you'd have bought one! The skin colour on some people sometimes is a little harsh but otherwise quality is brilliant. Watching fast action movies and sports does create that 'blur' that you get sometimes with LCD's but its nowhere near as bad as the majority I have seen. The depth of black is good with this TV too and not the blurry faded grey you get on a lot of sets.

If I was to find a negative the sound quality lacks a bit of depth for those action movies but if you'd play these through a DVD system anyway.

So if you're on a budget and looking for a good quality picture from a reliable brand you're not going to go far wrong with this.

Nice review. I find skin colour to be the biggest, noticeable oddity with a lot of LCDs
