A few technical faults but good picture and sound!
Member Name: Seven17
Advantages: Good picture and sound
Disadvantages: Faults are an absolute nightmare
I want to first talk about the technical faults I've been having, if your buying the TV for peripherals such as a PC or games console, it's GREAT. but for digital TV, not really.
First off all the digital TV menu is very straight forward, but has been a problem child from day one. The first fault I noticed was when flicking through the radio stations from 700 upwards. The screen froze and then seconds later gave me a recurring list of the same channels on every page until I turned the TV off and then on again. This still happens today, several months after my purchase. The second fault is the signal problems. It can receive digital channels, and in the quality section, it tells me they are at 80-100% but comes up on screen as "no signal" for some channels. This was recently solved but now happens intermittently.
So with the negatives out f the way, here are some positives. The sound for a start is fantastic, not too bass filled but also not too light - so watching X factor means you get the singer and music at the same volume not one drowning out the other. The the remote control is much easier than a Sony one, and allows you to control the DVD player too, but also eats up AAA batteries. I change mine every couple months.
The picture is fantastic in HD and SD with very vibrant colours, for instance, I was watching a programme which was showing a carbon fibre bicycle and each square in the carbon fibre was clearly visible, and the small particles of black within each white square were clearly visible, and very sharp. I have also customised the sharpness and brightness to my own personal settings, something which is very handy in a darkened room.
Overall, it's ok. Just ok. It works as a TV for the kids Xbox 360 and other HDMI peripherals but as a TV for viewing free view digital, it's not really suited given the number of things that can wrong very quickly with this. Other than digital TV it's quite good value.
Summary: Good for HD peripherals, but for digital TV is not so good
