Great upgrade from the incredible hulk of TV's (Samsung LE-40B550)

We bought the Samsung LE-40B551A recently when our old beast of a television died on us. Having been used to having a TV from the stone age which weighed a ton and took up half the living room we decided to go for a sleek LCD and decided on this one.

It cost us £540 in Dixons and we bought it online it arrived a week later and came in the hugest box ever!

So what do you get for the £540 I hear you cry! Well for those of you who are more technically minded which cannot be hard as I am rubbish here is some of the specification!

It also has Samsungs Anynet+ remote which means you can control up to 12 Samsung devices all on one remote.

It was really quick to set up and taking out of the box putting it on the stand and searching for all of the free view channels took about 10 minutes.

It looks good and really glossy and the picture is really good. I thought it would give me a headache being so big but it hasn't and the picture on a dark scene is also really good. The remote is really sleek and easy to use. It plays a little tune on turning it on and off which I quite like but I guess some people would find annoying but you can turn this off.

I have viewed my pictures on it from my camera and it plays a nice slide show. The sound quality is good although I have been using our surround sound speakers for sound. We had a bit of a panic recently as when we went to turn the volume up on the TV it wasn't working but we had somehow managed to completely turn off the sound on the TV without realising and on reading the manual turned this option off so this is obviously our error as we are a couple of dimwits and not the TV's!

The only thing that drives me crazy is that it attracts dust like a magnet but it does come with a cleaning cloth.
