Advantages: great design, good size, image quality, sound quality
Disadvantages: 'buttons' on television are hard to see.
I ordered this television in December this year from my catalogue and low and behold it turned up on new years eve just to add to the chaos of our pre christmas house. I'd replaced my 15 year old television that my Grandaughter kept reminding me was ancient, so couldn't wait to get my new flat screen out of the box and into action. It was a lot bigger screen wise than my old one, but about 1/8th of the thickness.
I paid nearly £500 for my television which I thought was really expensive considering the last television I'd bought had cost about £100, but everyone told me how much better it would be so I thought it would be worth it.
This TV comes into its own though when you plug in your xbox or playstation. THe colours are absolutely brilliant, the most vibrant I have seen.
I unpacked the television, put my old beloved one in the garden and started to set up the new one, I was like a kid at christmas unwrapping a new toy. It was quite easy to set up, plug the ariel in, plug it into the mains and then plug in accessories to the television, i.e. Dvd player and wii. Unlike old televisions, you don't have to use the scart because it's got the red, white yellow holes which makes it so much easier. I was suprised that the television isn't too heavy as well, it was easy to put it on the stand the onto the cabinet.
I took off the screen protector, I know it's best to leave them on, but with a 4 year old grandson, I know that I'd end up with the corners being peeled up and it would drive me mad so I just took it straight off.
The television itself is easy to use, especially with other devices. You can plug things like your camera into the side with a usb which is really cool to see your pictures on the screen, although I haven't used this, my grandaughter likes this feature. Also, when you plug gaming consoles into it, you don't have to flick through all your channels trying to find where your game is, it's simply a Source button, and you can choose ext 1 for examply for the wii. This saves lots of time.
The television itself is really nice looking. It's a gloosy black colour which looks modern and makes the design even more sleek and classy. Being shiny though does mean that you can see the dust on it very well which isn't great, but it takes two seconds to wipe it over.
When I first put the television on, I was pleased with the image. It shows bright colourful images and the sound quality is really good, much better than my previous television. I love having such a big television, I know there are a lot bigger but my previous one was only about a 30inch so this one feels massive to me. You can sit the other side of the room and still comfortably watch and hear what you're watching. It's good for gaming on as well, because the image quality on the screen is really good making your experience better.
The base of the television is quite wide so you can't knock it over easily which was my biggest worry of having a flatscreen because of my grandson and because I'm a paticularly clumsy person.
The television has some controls on it, but I find them difficult to use, because they're not buttons, but like touch-screen on the side of the screen which aren't lit up so I can't really see them very well, but this isn't a problem because if I'm watching the tele, I tend to have the remote close to hand anyway.
Condsidering it's a modern television, the remote it quite big, I was suprised how long it is, but then I guess that it because televisons these days have lots more functions than the old ones, and it helps being bigger when you lose the thing!
I've had the television for coming up to a year now and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever so for me so far it's been very reliable.
Overall, I'm really pleased with my television, it was expensive but I think it was worth every penny and now I'm a 'cool nan' because my grandkids love it as well. I couldn't ask for more from this tele, it's great sound/image quality, a great size and a nice modern design. The only nice addition would be if it cleaned itself! :)
Summary: A great television to own.
