**Time for a new TV but don't know where to start? **
This was me a while ago! Confused much! Fortunately for me, my other half is very clued up on TV technology, but it's very often not the case that there is going to be somebody around to help you - hence my review.
**Let's do this Step by Step**
Firstly, I guess you have a general idea of the type of TV that you'd like and that's why you've found yourself here. That's a start! You're probably less certain of the make, model and features you're looking for.
Samsung - Very renowned for their high quality products within the television market. They are very consistent in producing high quality sets and are definitely a reliable manufacturer with good customer service over the telephone, I might add (have had to use this several times)
**Design and Size**
This LE40C530 model is a pretty sleek style flat screen television, generous in size at 40 inches. I would say that it's designed more as a focal point for within a living room rather than a bedroom, although it can be used in either room. It is glossy black in colour so looks quite classy. The base of the TV is quite wide which means it's not easily knocked over by just walking past or something. There are some controls on the TV that are touch screen on the side of the screen.
This TV offers full HD (High Definition) sharp, detailed, bright and vibrant colours. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. The picture really is crystal clear and the colours and depth leap out towards you. When we turned this TV on we were delighted to find NO dead pixels, which is good as some manufacturers might still allow for a minimal number of dead pixels per square inch.
Sound is more than adequate. There is an equaliser to adjust sounds to your liking. I have noticed that if the sound is turned up towards full blast, the sound starts to become distorted because speakers can't handle the power the TV produces. This isn't a problem though as we never need to turn the sound up that high and if you want awesome sound to go with your HD movies, simply connect up to an external sound system and there you go... The audio power is two 10w speakers and mono/stereo. Sound is 2.0 + digital One, Dolby digital plus and Dolby pulse. The speakers are down firing.

Confused? Don't be. I've only included this information for those looking for certain functions. Basically there are ample enough connections to be able to plug in various pieces of equipment be it for game machines, cameras etc.
Included with the TV is a remote control with batteries, Instruction manual and power cable.
Other features on the TV include, Teletext, Auto channel search, auto power off, auto volume leveller, subtitles, Clock on and off timer, Game mode, sleep timer, Digital noise filter, Picture in Picture, Channel list, USB, connect share movie.
Set up of this TV was simple and easy. I was most pleased that even I could do it! It was just a case of plugging everything in and there was no need to use a scart because the red, yellow and white (audio/video) holes made the connections easier to understand.
**Is this TV suitable for us? **
I would say that if you would like your TV to support multiple device inputs, e.g. home media, games consoles and high definition audio outputs, this is a good TV to consider. The other good thing about this TV is that it supports full 1080p High Definition which quality is starting to become standard throughout today's industry.
**My Favourite features**
**Camera use** - Plug your camera into the TV via USB and you can view your pictures on a 40 inch screen! Although depending on the native resolution of the pictures, some slight pixilation may occur.
**Gaming** - The gaming experience on this TV is amazing. Sounds are explosive; the pictures sharp and because the screen is big enough you don't have to sit too close! Please keep in mind the optimal viewing distance; a big screen is nice but if you sit too close the picture may appear a little pixelated.
Collects dust quickly! It need not be expensive to keep clean but if you have read any of my other reviews - Tesco Baby wipes, at just 0.18p a packet do the job for us. Do NOT use on the screen though.
The touch sensitive pads (control buttons on the screen) don't light up, making them difficult to see at a distance. It's not a problem really as I use the remote anyway.
Curious toddlers! As with any flat screen, exploring toddlers at some stage will have a go at trying to swivel the TV around, or at worst, bash into the TV stand! Make sure your TV is properly secure.
Summary: A fabulous buy! most pleased!
