Advantages: Freeview HD, FULL HD 1080p, Cheap Price, Modern Design, Anynet+

Disadvantages: No Smart Hub, No 3D Capabilities

I recently purchased this TV as NEW, although upon researched found it to be an old model, but who's counting as long as it has a 12 month warranty?

This TV is now discontinued and will be VERY difficult to find brand new.

Upon turning this TV on, I was a little sceptical as to whether the specification I was lead to believe was true, but it was - This TV really DOES have Full HD, Freeview HD, 4X HDMI, USB Playback, Anynet+, Internet Capabilities (Ethernet connection required - More on this later) and a stunning 40" Samsung Display.

I have heard a lot of manufacturers are turning to the Vestel Chasis, which is a generaic body and screen, but has a different band name on it. This TV is 100% Samsung and 100% the real deal.

Freeview HD and FULL HD for under £400 were an absolute bargain and Samsung either realised this when discontinuing or were giving the consumer a taster of what they have in store for the future and how low they are pricing them at. Alls I can say is watch this space.

The internet capabilities of this TV are not as you may have thought when reading it above - alls it has is the ability to stream networked data from one device on the same network to the TV set. The media function (which is on the remote) allows the user to stream music, videos and photos from a wireless device using anynet+ over an internet connetion; such as a Galaxy S II / Galaxy S III Smart phone or equilivent device.

The layout of the set is very suave, with a rose red tint around the frame and touch pad buttons to avoid an ugly fascia. The EPG is very smooth too, with an easy to navigate menu and options for timers and such with the coloured buttons on the remote.
The 'Media' button on the remote is a great functon which allows the user to watch videos from an external USB device, such as a hard drive or pen stick. This function is very appealing to me personally as it allows for films bought online via download to be transferred and watched in glorious high definition, rather than on my small computer screen.

The remote is very easy to use with a very user friendly layour - big buttons and coloured where necessary. The pictures on the buttons are very visible, which is great for those with limited sight and also the remote will control any other Samsung or Toshiba device that is connected, which is great as users will not have to fiddle with two, three of four different remotes at one time. The function this uses is Anynet+ (which can be turned on an off at any time via the 'Tools' menu)

Anynet+ is a fantastic function as it allows the user to activate connected devices via the 'Tools' button on the remote, rather than having to power on each individual device with their designated remote - meaning only one remote will suffice.

To conclude, this TV is fantastic for the price I found it at, however with its limited life span on the shelves, I do often wonder why they were discontinued; was it because they were released at the same time as the Smart TV's and were overlooked by consumers wanting the next level, or because they lack 3D capabilities and an LED Backlit screen?
All in all this TV is great for somebody who wants to watch their favourite programmes in HD (Via Freeview HD), play their games in Full HD (Via one of the four HDMI Ports located on the set) or just have a reasonably priced 40" screen in their home. Either way, this TV ticks all the boxes.

The only cons are the lack of Smart Function and 3D for those who want the next generation of functions without adding external devices.

For what it is intended for and for what it delivers for the prie I paid, this TV deserves a solid 9.5/10

Summary: Ideal TV for somebody who wants the Full HD experience on a budget - Exceeded my expectation
