I've owned this white Samsung 19" TV (LE19R86WD) for around 4 years now. At first it took up residence in my bedroom when I lived with my parents, then it briefly became my main TV when I got my first home, and now it has been relegated back to its position as "Bedroom TV".
It's probably fair to say that during its time in the front room in my new house, this was a little bit out of place. I think it's probably a bit small for a lounge - the sound struggles slightly to fill a larger room, with little depth when the volume is turned up. However it is ideal for a bedroom, and the HD picture quality is very good.
As with many other Samsung gadgets at the moment, this TV looks smart and sleek, and is a compact unit. Whereas some LCD TVs still look boxy and dated despite their slimline frame, the smooth curved style of this TV mean that it does look good and fits into a modern room nicely. It's also available in black if that fits better with your styling.
Throughout the time I've owned it, it has been incredibly reliable. It has never posed me a single problem technically - I've got it to work successfully with endless games consoles, DVD players, VCRs, digital cameras, laptops etc. with minimal fuss. The menus are simple and quick to use, set-up is relatively easy and painless, and for a small TV it has a decent choice of input and output jacks.
There are scart, aerial, headphone, high definition RGB and standard definition input ports, as well as a single HDMI port, which some may groan about, but bearing in mind HDMI was a lot rarer when this TV was first released, one is good!
My main personal gripe occurs when I move my Xbox between this TV and my main TV. My main TV is also a Samsung, but a 32", and so the Xbox display is always set to 1080p. The maximum setting supported by the 19" model is 720p, and I have to remember to reset the Xbox display to 720p before moving it. Needless to say, I always forget!
I love this tv - looked so pretty in the shop that i just had to have it - i have the black one not the white one featured in the picture (the black one is much nicer).Managed to wall mount it but was a bit tricky and use it everyday. The one bad thing is that you can't turn the tv off unless you turn it off at the plug so it is constantly on standby - probaby not good for glaobal warming! But great quality picture and sound.
