      Very helpful

      Highly recommended TV

About a month or so ago I bought this TV, and have been very pleased with it. For those techies among you I have included a specification of this TV and the terminals at the bottom of the review.

I bought it for £999.99 (might be cheaper now) which is a great price. Before buying I did a bit of research into the TVs in the market. For the same price, you could get a smaller, uglier TV. For the same spec, you were looking about £500 more, meaning this TV offered very good value for money.

There are a lot of televisions for sale at the moment, all of which are LCD or plasma screens offering similar resolutions and features. However, some manufacturers do not seem to realise that these large TVs are now the feature of many living rooms and therefore have to be good looking and aesthetically pleasing. This TV is exactly that – the colour and shape are striking and the stand non-obtrusive.

Talking of the stand, this Samsung has a nifty stand which allows the TV to be twisted both ways without the stand moving, allowing it to rotate on its own axis.

The built in Freeview Tuner is good, but does depend on you having a strong signal, so may be no use in some areas of the country. One small and simple feature which many TVs do not offer is a clock and sleep timer – this does fortunately.

From new, installation of the TV is very straight forward. The manual is clear (although I didn’t use it much!). The TV “installs” new channels automatically meaning you can have it out of the box and watching in minutes.

The picture quality on this TV is excellent. I have my Xbox 360 plugged into it, and it really shows the games off in all its beauty. I can’t say too much about the sound on this TV, as I have surround sound already, but from setting it up, it seemed clear and loud.

My only small criticism is that it has only one HDMI connector. Many new TVs come with more, and this would make it more future proof. However you can now buy HDMI splitter switch boxes from the likes of Belkin, so this shouldn’t cause too much of a problem.

Overall this is a great looking television, good picture, good features… and best of all comes in at a cracking price. Highly recommended.
