A few years ago we bought the most gorgeous LG LCD 38" TV. I looked at it everyday thinking how nice it looked. Until the disasterous day when my 8 month old daughter decided to have fun smashing it with the remote. I hadn't noticed turned it on and BOOM it exploded. We took it to the skip and everyone was so surprised we were throwing away such a lovely thing. So our next one had to live up to our expectations.
We ordered one online from a TV shop website (sorry can't remember name). For a whole week we lived without a TV which to be honest wasn't so bad. We decided that a TV is something nice to have in your house and is wort spending a bit of money on. We looked all over and couldn't get any good deals only a free digital photoframe. In the end we chose this Samsung LED tv 42". It was £900 with a special £200 cashback offer.
It arrived 5 days later in an exictingly large blue flowery box. The delivery man had to carry it upstairs by himself. As the TV is so light he had no problem on his own. I did attempt to fit it and installit myself which would have been no problem as it was very easy to do. But as I am not the strongest person I waited for the husband to help me . And it was surprisingly easy. First you set up the legs and place the TV on to and screw lots of screws and stick lots of wire sorters on. (Notice my technical language lol).
The TV is very nice looking. It looks very slek and thin comparedto LCD etc.It has a thin attractive glass border. Supposedly the border is wooden effect in brown. To be honest you can only see it if you go really closely and look at it. Otherwise it looks like a normal black TV.
Too add to its sleekness it has no physical buttons. Instead along the bottom of the border there are your normal channel arrows, volume sinlge on/off button but in a futuristic touchscreen. This sounds good but in the dark you do have to mess aroun finding the thing. Also my baby finds it too easy to touch the TV on and off.
What I found handy is there is a source and menu button on the screen. On most TVs if you wanted to change the source or menu you would have to do it by remote. In my house the remote goes missing quite alot so its very handy to be able to do this without needing a remote.
The TV is stood on a stand that splits into four legs. They work very well but are made of shiny plastic which in my opinion cheapen the look of the TV.
This TV has 2 scart socket at least 3 USB an SD card reader and your useual others. I can easily have lots of things connected to it at the same time. Phones, computers etc.
It also comes with a nice looking remote. Nothing special except for it lights up. Fantastic for seeing the buttons in the dark.
The quality of the picture is Amazing. When watching E4 or Channel 4 particularily is as if the people are moving in front of you. You can see every little detail. One bad thing is it is not enough HTZ so when there are credits moving up the screen they are very blurry.
We got the 42" in my parents have the 38". I have to say it does make a big difference. The smaller size is muc better quality. So it is worth sarificing a few inches for quality.
This tv is really stylish and modern and i love the colour as my old tv was black and boring by comparison. It is easy to carry as it is so slim and light for me to pick up and put it on the stand. Its bigger than my previous tv and i was worried that it would look too big in my living room but i cannot fault this product at all. The HD quality is so much better than my old TV and the sound is to.This was well worth the price and great value for what you are paying for.Samsung is a very reliable make in my previous experience and that along with the design is what made me choose this television. Also the quality of this tv when watching dvd's is amazing as the picture and sound are so clear.I would definately highly recomend this product to anyone.
This television from Samsung turned out to be the perfect television to watch television series and dvd`s on, the quality of images and sound is absolutely brilliant, this is beyond any other television I have owned so far, this is one hundred percent excellent!
One of the best pleasant surprises that came a long with this television, was the feature that allows you to plug an USB stick into the television, meaning that you can download television programs and movies from the internet and transfer them to your USB stick and watch them in very good quality on the television! The USB stick also allows you to view pictures, documents, listen to music and much more, and this is just one of the great features, and by far my favorite! The visual experience of watching anything on this television is amazing, the picture quality is crisp and very clear, the FullHD screen presenting all images with amazing quality, the sound quality very good as well! Then again, seeing as I paid a small fortune for this television, I would probably have been disappointed to experience anything but superb quality, 855 pounds quite a high cost for any product, as you can for sure get cheap and still good quality televisions on the market today! But, this television offers an amazing visual and audio quality, and I will never regret having spent money on it!
This is a superb television in every way possible, it`s a splurge yes, but what an experience it can offer!
Where do I start? I was fortunate enough to have been gifted a UE-40C6510 for a wedding present from my colleagues at work. I was truly shocked and surprised by the gesture as I didn't realise I was liked so much by my colleagues!
My 'old' tv - which has reached the grand old age of almost 2 years old now has pride of place in my bedroom for nighttime watching. The new Samsung steals focus in my living room on the large chimney breast.
I thought my last tv was good in HD until I looked at this monster.
It's not too heavy - but you wouldn't epect it to be considering how slim it is. I didn't know tv's could be so slim!
I've used Sky HD for some time now and thought the freeview tuner was a nice feature until my wife told me that each tv now has to have a freeview tuner as some regions in the UK (like our's - Granada region) no longer have a terrestrial signal. I felt so small having my new wife teach me technology!
The picture quality is so true to life it's unbelievable. The screen has virtually no reflection and the colours and contrast are just stunning. There is a fine selection of connectors on the tv including 4 hdmi inputs. The sound outputs include Dolby Digital Plus, SRS Theatre sound and dts 2 with digital out.
If you aren't going to connect to surround system, you won't be disappointed by the built in speakers which have fantastic sound reproduction which can really belt out for a 10 watt speaker.
It is so versatile and is easy to connect to your computer either wirelessly or via the two usb connectors.
I was quite satisfied with my 'old' tv before laying my eyes on this. Now I just cringe when I have to watch other people's tv's when we go visiting.
When you see one of these tv's in action, you'll just know it's the one for you!
Love love love the styling of this tv. The stand is lovely, what a break from those awful disk stands and the surround as well with its grained look, with the added point that its really really thin.
As soon as i saw this TV i fell in love with it, but then i turned it on and wow, the quality of the picture is amazing, and on HD its superb, played a blu-ray on it the other day and my god is it great.
The speakers in my own view are superior compared to my last samsung TV (Again, on the samsungs lol) and the extra features embedded on the tv are great too. Like being able to cook with your TV i love that one, and you can download new recipies as well. Also there are kids games and fitness info on it too.
You can also use it as a gallery by slapping your memory card in it and slide showing your photos, and adding a music track on the memory card to play along side it.
