I'd like to leave my first review on this site with the last product i actually bought myself. This Samsung 32" LED TV is beyond good! I was searching around for some time to get a quality and affordable TV for my bedroom and stumbled across this.
The picture is top quality, with it's LED backlit screen and HD sharpness it really does stand out above some of the other TV's you will find in this price range. Now for some this is just a TV and at that cost you can't really go wrong. For me this is an amazing TV, i'm really up to date with my technology and as this comes with 2 HDMI ports, 1 USB port, an ethernet port and all the other usual ports a TV has, it does everything i need! You can connect your external hard drive's and play whatever you have on the TV. It also comes with the built in freeview if you don't already have a box.
The TV itself is light and a very well built. Glossy finish around the edges, very sturdy stand that it sits on and nice and thin. It's great for anyone really. I play my xbox through it just fine, playstation is you have one will also work. You can connect a surround sound system to it as well, no problem.
Alll in all with the quality and price and the name you are paying for, this is amazing value for money!
This TV can be connected to your computer or console, it also has a HDMI port and USB port for storage devices. The specs say it has a LAN connection, but my IT savvy husband says that he has not been able to find it. It unfortunately didn't come with a wall mount so this had to be bought separately (we did find that a universal mount fitted with little problem). It did not have any specialist cables (audio etc), but was supplied with a couple of power leads - one UK and one American. Very irritatingly it was the American power lead that had the 90 degree angle connector to prevent the TV from being tipped upwards when the power cable is connected into the rear whilst wall mounted, so this was another thing that we had to buy separately. It does come with a stand so can be stood up as an alternative to wall mounting, but with a 15 month-old toddler we opted for hanging it out of reach.
We bought this TV some months after our old TV went pop and we had been watching TV through our PC monitor. We decided on this TV because it could be connected to the PC and consoles and because we weren't too concerned about having a larger television. It is currently retailing at between £259.99 and £329.99 and we bought it at the lower end of this scale.
The TV itself is quite light to carry as you would imagine, the casing is black and glossy. The border around the screen is roughly a couple of centimetres with the 'Samsung' name on a small separate tag along the bottom of the border. The speakers are in the rear so are not visible from the front when watching TV.
After the initial disappointment of having to get a power cable we have been generally happy with the TV. It has a good, clear picture. This is a must as my husband likes to watch HD - I'm not so bothered. We only use the TV through the computer and the Play Station and not to watch live TV so it has all the ports we need to facilitate this and of course has ports for TV decoders, DVDs and Blu-ray players and the other common gadgets that we like to attach to our TVs nowadays. It has been a long time since we have had a new TV so this next comment might seem a bit old fashioned , but I really like a feature where the screen can be turned off whilst the speakers are still working. I can listen to music without using the extra energy or wearing the screen. It's a small pleasure, but it is mine. :)
We have now had the TV for about three months and I have nothing bad to say about it. It does its job and keeps the little one sitting still so I can dress her/brush her hair without chasing her all around the room!
If you are looking for a reasonably priced mid-size TV without all the bells and whistles of 3D or interactive services then this might be just up your street. Although the connector was wrong I am giving this a five as it is only a small down-side.
