Advantages: Great picture, Ease of set up

Disadvantages: AV fan noise, Manual layout

Having watched my 9-year-old current CRT TV start to have picture problems I made the decision to replace it with something a bit more up to date. After looking at numerous 28? wide screen TVs and being put off by the sheer size of them I opted for an LCD. Sharp seem to be one of the leaders in LCD technology and having read the reviews for this TV I took the leap and went for it. Rather than pay £2250 for it in a retail shop I went through a number of Internet sites and found it online for £1500.

Once out of the box, setting it up is relatively simple although I think that the manual should identify which scart sockets in the separate AV unit are for which source slightly earlier than page 42. This separate unit means that there is only one lead and the power lead going into the back of the TV rather than all the source leads. The on-screen instructions are clear and complete the set up quite quickly.

Now to sit down and watch something. Picture quality is excellent both with on air and DVD sources. The colours are true with depth and clarity, and the detail on Pixar animations is superb. Sharp gives you the option of removing the speakers from the sides, which I have done, and to play the sound through your HI-Fi. This makes the TV look less imposing and aesthetically more pleasing on the eye. After 6 days of usage the only negative I have about the system is the cooling fan noise from the AV unit.

All in all, very happy.

Sounds great!

Welcome to Dooyoo.

A few tips to get you started on the site: Although there's no limit on the amount of reviews you can post it's better to post just three a day then you'll find you get more reads. If you read and rate around the site you'll soon find out what should be included in a review plus you'll get known to other members which will result in them reading things that you post.

It?s always a good idea to write your reviews as though you are writing for someone who has never heard of the product, that way you?ll cover everything. Also it?s best to write your review in Microsoft Word and run a spellchecker before posting onto the site.

You can ask any of the guides for help with any aspect of the site and a list of all the guides can be found here http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/c ommunity/_page/advice_gui des/. They will do everything they can to help with your query.

You may have noticed that there are no capital letters on reviews that you post on the site. However, there is a fix for this and full instructions can be found at http://www.chuckleweb.co. uk/fixit.php.

Lastly you can sign up for your own guest book at http://www.crosswordcheat s.com/tooyoo/ where you can chat with other Dooyoo members.

Above all I hope you enjoy it here and have fun :O) Sara

Hi welcome to dooyoo!!!
your review was pretty good but here are some tips i was given when i joined

try to use capital letters where applicable
try to include as much info as possible

I think maybe your review was abit too short and it would be useful if you could include more information.

If you want to make the most of dooyoo, i have found that it works to read as many reviews as you can because the people you read will often read yours to return the favur and then you get paid, thats how i work anyway, you read mine i read yours.

hope that helps.
good luck!
