Advantages: 1080P HD, Built in Freeview
Disadvantages: None
We bought ours in Jun 08 from Stax Trade Centre in Manchester for £500 inc VAT.
At that time Sharp were also running a promotion in which when you filled out the registration card they would also give you £100 cash back and a 5 year warranty. Thus a month later we got a cheque for £100 and the TV had only cost us £400.
Having looked around the web I couldnt find a deal better than that. The closest was around the £525 mark.
The TV itself is brilliant. Its a 32in screen which is just big enough for us, most people I talk to say you want at least 37" and upwards, but having watched everything and anything from soaps, films, sports and loose women, we find it to be a great cystal clear picture.
The technology inside the TV is Widescreen 1080P Full HD which basically means you get a superb picture if you connect it to a HD box and watch HD channels. Now we have a Virgin V+ Box which is a HD box and it allows us to get BBC HD. I've managed to watch a few programs on BBC HD ie Strictly come dancing, Heroes, the odd football match and I must say its a massive difference to watching the other channels. Its just so clear and the colours so vivid.
The main connections on the back of the TV are 3 x HDMI and 2 x Scart.
It has freeview built in and we find using the TV extremely easy. You can access a main menu via the remote and change all the usual settings ie brightness, contrast, sound, picture quality. When we first plugged it in we were able to tell it scan for all the available channels and within 15 mins were up and watching telly.
We have found that we can watch the TV from any angle in the living room. Its offical viewing angle is 176 degrees.
All in all a great buy at a final cost of £400 and with a 5 year warranty.
Summary: Great high tech TV for a low tech price
