rubbish at playing dvd picture quality but it s very good on this tv and even better on blu ray. When I got this tv, I got a free S Sharp BR player thrown in with the deal plus a tv stand, not sure if you will get that now but if you see this tv around, it s worth negotiating! When connecting blu ray, the tv automatically picks up and converts the signal into 1080p/24hrz so you can watch blu ray the way you are meant to! It also has a fantastic flicker rate/refresh rate of 4ms to ensure the best picture quality. Terrestrial tv quality is pretty decent for a tv of this kind and I ve got technical experience with tv s so I know tv pic quality isn t always so great. ...

do anything about the stretched distorted picture which is a very frustrating oversight. When I stick a Blu-ray in another problem arises which seems to irritate me the more I see it. Basically, when i m watching a film with black borders, should I pause the film and presss play, the triangular play icon produced by the player icon will disappear but a silouhette will remain in the corner and won t disappear. The only way to get rid of it is to turn off the set while the disc plays. AAAAARRRGGGHH!
