would need to be turned off then on again, I am now into my 23rd month of owning this tv (i say tv loosely) and it will not come out of stand by, i have just got off the phone with supprt at SHARP UK who funnily enough feel i have had a good run with this tv, are not concerned with repairing it, and in there own way advised i buy a new tv. As soon as you turn this TV on the picture and sound quality hits you in the face with a BANG the people look so "real" although you may think this of your own TV you do not realise it till you see this television. The sliq modern design is very flattering, it is not very large on the back and from the front looks flat screen. The curved bottom makes it very aesthetically pleasing.
