Advantages: Didn't have to keep it

Disadvantages: Picture disappointing

My Panasonic Plasma 42" had developed a fault thus I was supplied with this Sharp model brand new out of the box. If I had bought this as a replacement and paid the sort of money (£1000 plus) I would have been very disappointed; not a happy bunny at all.
Some of the differences might be attributable to the LCD versus Plasma debate and I would say, for this size of screen, Plasma wins hands down. This set just didn't have what it takes; colour, definition, contrast whatever it was a long way below par compared to the fantastic Panasonic.
OK, my ecperience of this TV was a short one of about 2 weeks while the Panasonic was being repaired but the only good thing I can say is the Sharp was better than nothing.
Has taught me a lesson though. My local TV supplier has always offered to bring a new TV and install in in my own living room on an approval basis but I've never taken advantage of the offer. For this amount of spend I don't think I will pass on it in future, on the face of it the Sharp sounds like a decent set but that's probably just the sales blurb.
