My Panasonic Plasma 42" had developed a fault thus I was supplied with this Sharp model brand new out of the box. If I had bought this as a replacement and paid the sort of money (£1000 plus) I would have been very disappointed; not a happy bunny at all. Some of the differences might be attributable to the LCD versus Plasma debate and I would say, for this size of screen, Plasma wins hands down. We got this tv for a new room we have just done up. We wanted a large tv which played HD in full 1080P and looked good on the wall. We eventually found this Sharp Aquos and loved it. We saw it in a retail shop and the price was £1999.99 which is alot. We were going to buy it anyway but we went home just to check over its spec etc. We then found one of those sites which compares prices and we found one going for £1450 including VAT and postage. At first we were a bit worried about buying things like this online but the site had excellent ratings so we did it.
