My Panasonic Plasma 42" had developed a fault thus I was supplied with this Sharp model brand new out of the box. If I had bought this as a replacement and paid the sort of money (£1000 plus) I would have been very disappointed; not a happy bunny at all. Some of the differences might be attributable to the LCD versus Plasma debate and I would say, for this size of screen, Plasma wins hands down. I spent ages talking to sales staff in the shop s and eventually after finding a particularly helpful member of staff in Dixon s I bought the Sharp 42" TV and they even loaded it into the back of my car for me luckily I have an estate as I would have had no chance in a standard sized car. I took it home and when he came home from work he started having kittens when he saw what I had bought him. I had paid a very hefty £1100 but the look on his face was priceless as they say as is my credit card balance now lol.
