I bought this TV when I upgraded to a playstation 3 console, and thought it was about time to get an HD telly to go with the HD consoles! Amazon were doing it for under £400, and for the top of the range 26" model (at the time) it was a deal I couldn't say no to.
First things first- initial impressions- when I got it out of the box it looked a very attractive TV, with the black plastic offset by a nice bit of silver trim around the outside and a grey bar across the bottom of the screen. From taking out the box to running took around 10-15 minutes and was a doddle as are all TV's these days. Plug in, install connections and away you go, automatic installation was quick and easy and found all channels.
Picture quality was one of the reasons for getting this TV with a high end version of the Bravia engine. It doesn't disappoint, good quality through HD sources such as the PS3 as you expect on a 720p TV. The colours are excellent, the black is deep and not a shade of grey as in a lot of LCDs and the picture is sharp in digital TV too. The TV guide is easy to use and clear.
Sound quality is excellent, deep sounding although for HD movies you'll want a speaker system really.
Mounting on the wall via a VESA mount out of ASDA was easy, and the TV isn't too bad weight wise, but a little heavier than I was expecting lifting it up 6 feet!
Build quality has been excellent and overall I am pleased with the purchase.
well what can i say what a Tv. After getting my ps3 i thought i would look at a tv and the last place i looked was sony i thought that i would be able to get a better samsung than this. i was wrong. i was debating on weather getting this or the 32" version im glad i stuck with this. for one of the smallest models it takes up a lot of space in my room. well it looks massive as my room is small. another thing i noticed was that where ever i stood you could see it perfectly as though you was right in front of it. it did say that in the manual but i just assumed it was to sound good.
There are lots of different picture modes to choose from cinema vivid or normal, i put it on vivd as all the colours seem to stand out more and it looked better. when i put i film on i tried the cinema option but to be honest all it did was me the picture look almost like it was tea stained so out of all of them i would choose vivd.
You can ajust the speakers how you want when it comes out its box it is only tuned to come out the side speakers i would adjust it so that it comes out the speakers at the front. In a war game and films these are amazing but if you like base you will need to buy a base speaker seperatly. it does have a very rich clean sound but i love it.
if you havent had a flat tv before you will be suprise you can lift this with one hand so no need to get your neighbours to help you bring it in. wouldnt recomend holding it with one hand as if you drop it you will be pis*ed
