Advantages: Looks, picture quality
Disadvantages: Weight, but it is a minor gripe
I bought this TV when I upgraded to a playstation 3 console, and thought it was about time to get an HD telly to go with the HD consoles! Amazon were doing it for under £400, and for the top of the range 26" model (at the time) it was a deal I couldn't say no to.
First things first- initial impressions- when I got it out of the box it looked a very attractive TV, with the black plastic offset by a nice bit of silver trim around the outside and a grey bar across the bottom of the screen. From taking out the box to running took around 10-15 minutes and was a doddle as are all TV's these days. Plug in, install connections and away you go, automatic installation was quick and easy and found all channels.
Picture quality was one of the reasons for getting this TV with a high end version of the Bravia engine. It doesn't disappoint, good quality through HD sources such as the PS3 as you expect on a 720p TV. The colours are excellent, the black is deep and not a shade of grey as in a lot of LCDs and the picture is sharp in digital TV too. The TV guide is easy to use and clear.
Sound quality is excellent, deep sounding although for HD movies you'll want a speaker system really.
Mounting on the wall via a VESA mount out of ASDA was easy, and the TV isn't too bad weight wise, but a little heavier than I was expecting lifting it up 6 feet!
Build quality has been excellent and overall I am pleased with the purchase.
Summary: Good set, no real disadvantages
