Reason for purchase
My old television was in a terrible state but we kept it until the screen no longer worked! As we bought it years and years ago, we were behind with features such as widescreen and LCD. My dad decided we would get a good quality new TV. After a couple hours spent searching online, the Sony Brava 37" LCD KDL - 37P3020 was our choice. We bought it on the 29th of November 2007 and have experienced no problems with it. The remote batteries haven't even run out!
What it is like?
The first difference I noticed was the fact that we could see the whole picture for most films, as it was widescreen. Seeing the credits in full may sound nothing, but however sad this sounds, it was kind of cool. The picture quality and sound is also amazing. It is an LCD TV so this makes an obvious difference when you are used to an older TV. 37" is also an increase in size from our old one and you really appreciate the size. You can get a good view from a couple metres away and not be put off by the distance. It has built in freeview, which is useful as the digital switchover is coming soon. (Not sure when though) The freeview is easy to use and has many features. It has a favourites list where you can choose up to four lists of your favourite programs. You can also use it to choose, and set a timer for, any programs you want to record. It has power saving options to reduce the electric it uses. You can turn off the picture. This would be useful if you are watching a radio channel. You can also reduce the power consumption without turning off the picture. It comes with a stand and that is easily fitted. The stand is a good height and is very sturdy. It is also very easy to clean and just requires being softly rubbed over with a duster. Simple enough! The only downside is as it is a flat screen TV my cat can no longer sleep on top of it. She decides to sit in front of it instead!

Summary
I have a feeling my dad bought it partly to beat my grandparents who have a thing for buying modern technology way better than ours. Whatever the reason, all that matters is that he bought it. I love this TV and enjoy watching it a lot more than my old one. I did miss the old TV at first but now I am glad we have bought this one. It's a great family TV or, if you have the money, amazing for a bedroom. The built in freeview is a great feature and very useful. I would recommend this to anyone searching for a new TV. It's great! The only problem is I feel sorry for my cat. lol
You can buy it from a number of websites and shops but mine was bought from John Lewis for £599. That includes deilevery and a 5 year guarantee.
Thank you for taking the time to read
