Our old Sony TV had died after providing service for well over 9 years and this was the replacement model. I cannot but praise it because of the picture quality, the sleek design and the good audio it produces.

First thing to note is that it is a widescreen that supports full HD and if you have an digital HD aerial then you can watch standard free to air HD channels such as BBC HD directly on the TV without needing a seperate tuner.

Its screen size although 37" is quite significant and pleasing to the eye whilst space saving (our lounge isn't that big). As it is also relatively flat (compared to the old cathode ray Sony) it fits snugly into the corner.

Picture quality is impressive as can be expected from Sony. The white and blacks are pure and the overall colour quality is faultless. The contrast is just as good and there are also various profiles for colour and contrast as well as sound.

Its not only that, it also has powersaving modes and auto switch off functions which can be defined from the TV menu screen. The menus are simple, easy to navigate and yet allows you to define how you would like to watch.

Reliability? Well Sony provides a 3 year manufacturer warranty and if the previous TV is anything to go by then it should see out the warranty and more.
