We were also worried by the rumours that an image can 'burn' itself onto the screen if there for a while. In our house we tend to have the discovery channel on all of the time, and up until now there is no evidence of burnt images.

We have been really pleased with our purchase of this TV. We bought this partly because it was HD ready and were wanting to get sky HD to work with it. From someone who had a HD subscription I can say it works really well with our HD box and the picture is amazing. It was easy to set up in itself but we have it attached to a stand so the TV looks as if it is floating just above the stand and the wires are hidden (looks well). We set it up with the HD box as soon as we bought it but in recent times and the current economical climate, we reduced our sky package so it does not include the high definition service.
