HDTV's can be very expensive, which is why you should go with a brand you know will offer quality while still being affordable. Both of these are true to the KDLV4000, the picture quality is astounding while remaining very affordable.

Once out of the box, the TV is extremely simple to both setup and tune to your desired settings. The menus are easily navigated, the menu has several sub menus such as picture and sound. Once you've gone into these menus you'll find the standard options, brightness, sharpness and colour settings. This is where you can also alter the screen settings, if your preferance is widescreen, then widescreen is what you can choose. Additionally, there's a full pixel option which is handy if you're a gaming enthuisiast. The channcels on the KDLV4000 can be setup to have different settings from each other. For example, the HDMI channel can have significantly higher sharpness, while the AV channel can have lower brightness and a different viewing resolution. This is extremely handy if you're viewing different types of media, movies, games or even photographs. There are also three different modes, Standard, Cinema and Vivid. Cinema mode is generally used for viewing movies and in some cases, console gaming.

If you're a gamer, then you're going to be pleased to know that the TV can accept both component and HDMI connections. The TV will accept 720p, 1080i and 1080P when using these connections, although you will be unable to select certain resolutions when using a high definition connection.

Is there is one area where this specific model could improve, it'd be the sound. Occasionally the sound will sound muffled and somewhat, but this issue doesn't have regularly. This issue should not hinder you from purchasing this model.
