I spent a couple of years following the development and reading reviews of flat screen TV s before finally deciding to buy the Sony KDL40W4000 in August 2008. The reviews on the various TV and hifi review sites on the internet all rated this model as 5 stars, and were full of superlatives when describing the quality of the picture and the sound. I tend to agree with them, the picture is sharp, detailed and has excellent colour balance and when watching high definition sources can be simply breathtaking in its depth and realism. I rate the sound as excellent for a flat screen TV, obviously it can t compare with a full surround sound system, but for a tv, I can t fault ...

Sony KDL-40D3500

plumped for a Sony KDL 40D3500. The first thing to say it that I think this TV looks great, that was probably why I ended up with it in my house. It s a classy number, understated and very well built. Picture ~~~~~ The 40D3500 is full high def. 1920 x 1080 resolution, which makes Sky digital look great and sky and BBC HD look amazing. I don t have a PS3 but a mate brought his round to see the picture quality. This TV makes the most of the top end 1080p output by the PS3 and it shows the PS3 output as it is meant to be seen. I ve also checked out some blu-ray DVDs and those looked fantastic as well. It may be partly due to some fancy stuff the TV can do; 24p ...

So to my delight John came home with a lovely 40 inch Sony Bravia KDL-40D3000 to give it its full title and my god in comparison to my other television it is huge, it actually feels like it takes up half of the lounge.
