Disadvantages: Expensive, some features are pointless.
I bought this incredible TV a few months ago and what a buy it was. Never have I been so excited to open and set up a television before. The applications this TV has is insane. Set-up was actually incredibly easy, from turning it on to having it all up and running only took about 20 mins including put on the stand and allowing the TV to search for Channels. There was a very simple guide that ran you through.
Firstly lets start with the screen quality - wow, the crispness and quality it has when watching movies is great, and even though is an edge-lit screen the centre of the screen still doesn't get too dark when watching darker movies. It does not lose any quality even being at 46 inches and really does make things feel more life like, especially in close ups. Its motion functionality and refresh rate means that in fast paced movies or television it does not drag and looks as clear and very real. Watching Blu-Ray on it is something else, the quality is immense. When watching movies you truly feel immersed in the experience. Now onto 3D, we watched TINTIN on this and it was something else, the 3D glasses are quite expensive but the life like experience you receive was quality.
Further the sound only gets better, admittedly I bought a sound bar but have listened to it with out the sound bar and it produces audio that not many other TVs seem to have the ability to do. There are a ridiculous amount of other applications like getting onto the internet and skype which would be fantastic if I had internet at the minute. Another great feature is the ability to plug in any usb stick and it will play the media off that.
There is a great feature named "home" which allows you to scroll through easily all the settings, which I played with quite a bit in order to find the perfect settings. You can easily reach the internet access and skype. In here you can turn on features that turn off the screen if you are too close, energy saving options that turn off the television if there is no movement from the watcher. Admittedly we had to turn off the option to turn the screen off if someone gets too close as everytime someone walked passed it would turn itself off. It has a huge amount of input outputs, including around 4 HDMI, 2 USB as well as your standard RGB and component all of which we use for the blu-ray player and the sound bar.
The only disadvantage was the amount of time it took me to set up the screen to get it perfect for what I wanted, but once I had that sorted the screen looked absolutely fantastic. Now I can watch Blu-Ray movies knowing that they will look great everytime without worry of it getting too dark.
Finally it may use a lot of electricity but simply removing the plug every night keeps the costs of that down.
The remote is incredibly easy to use, and even my girlfriend and flatmates have come to grips to it very quickly. The guide is easy to use, you can set reminders easily and watch HD channels if they are available.
Summary: Amazing screen quality.
