wow! (Sony KDL-46W4500)

Advantages: the sheer awesomeness of the quality Disadvantages: ok it is pricey Recently there has only been one make when it comes to televisions, Sony. There has also only been one brand that embodies the quality of the item, Bravia. This 46" Widescreen LCD version certainly lives up the name. HD ready with full 1080p resolution means that watching anything on this screen is simply a joyful experience. I must admit, I did not totally buy into the whole "HD" thing when it first arrived on the scene. Since seeing Planet Earth at a friend's house though I was completely sold, the detail was incredible. Suddenly the days of grainy attempts trying to work out the species of ape I was looking at, only to realise it was David Attenbourgh, are over! The HDMI cable input makes connecting anything into the TV easy, so ends the multitude of cables to every appliance under the sun. The sleek black body adds another level of glamour to the item. However there is a draw back, the cost. Invariably you have to pay a price for this level of engineering and the price for any Bravia is high. There are of course cheaper variants. However I do not feel that you would get anything like the quality, reliability and sheer power for less. Summary: pay the price for quality
