the tv for an attractive £683. I was a bit sceptical about why this relatively small company could be so cheap compared to everywhere else. Off I went to the Sony Centre, armed with my printout in the hope they would price match for me. I spent a couple of years following the development and reading reviews of flat screen TV s before finally deciding to buy the Sony KDL40W4000 in August 2008. The reviews on the various TV and hifi review sites on the internet all rated this model as 5 stars, and were full of superlatives when describing the quality of the picture and the sound. I tend to agree with them, the picture is sharp, detailed and has excellent colour balance and when watching high definition sources can be simply breathtaking in its depth and realism.
