Tuning the TV is easy, it has a simple to use auto-tune function, the only problem with it is finding it on the menu, which goes for most settings on the menu as well, although the different quick settings are handy for things like gaming, sports, movies or general viewing. There is a built in tv-guide, which is good, but you do have to wait a couple of minutes for it to search complet...more

Premium Review Technika LCD22-208: Not for the Technikally Minded (547 words)

I purchased this TV as a present for the girlfriend to have in her bedroom. Her previous set up consisted of a 15-year old 28" non-widescreen Sony TV balanced somewhat precariously on an Ikea chest of draws. Not only did it weigh an absolute tonne, it took up all the space on top, so the DVD player had to be placed on its side - not really ideal. Anyway, I had eyed up this TV in Tesco previously, and immeditely came back to it as at £185 it looked great value for money with the built in Freeview and DVD Player. Although we don't have Freeview in our area yet, it's nice to have something futureproof. I spent a good half an hour studying and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Technology from Technika. (809 words)

About six weeks or so ago we had to replace our television and before setting out to buy a new set we decided to look around on the Internet to see if there were any extra good deals out there. After looking at the electrical giants websites we then had a trawl around the major supermarkets electrical departments and it was there that we came across the Technika LCD22-208. We must have been lucky because we paid £165 for our Technika television whereas it is on the Tesco Direct website priced at £180 at the moment. Our old set was cumbersome to say the least and we always said that as soon as it had to be renewed then we would both like a flat screen ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Technika LCD22-208: LCD22-208, a cheap yet decent TV (322 words)
by - written on 19/09/09 (Very useful, 180 readings)
Rating:

I first noticed this TV when doing the weekly shop in Tesco. I had a look at the features and they were pretty impressive. The TV was 22 inches and included a built in DVD player and a free view box, not bad for the money. When I got home I did some research yet there were hardly any reviews. The only thing stopping me from buying it straight away was the name, Technika, Tesco's own brand. I finally decided to buy it and one Saturday I went out and got one. Installation was simple enough but to be honest the instruction manual while it was helpful could have been better. To start off I plugged the power lead in. I then followed the instructions and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Technika 22" TV-DVD combo with freeview, HD ready (237 words)

The Technika LCD22-208. Its a TV, DVD player and freeview box all-in-one, plus it has HD capability, which is nice. However, there are a few issues with it. It isn't the only 22" LCD TV with all these features on it, nor is it the best i'm sure. For example, build quality may be an issue, where i need to string up my RF cable (the aerial cable) to prevent it from falling out or even just bending the socket a little, which i have found causes a little interference on some channels. Tuning the TV is easy, it has a simple to use auto-tune function, the only problem with it is finding it on the menu, which goes for most settings on the menu as well, although the ...  Read the complete review
