Advantages: Fantastic quality for the price, easy to use, looks great

Disadvantages: None I can think of!

I have never really been one to watch much TV, and for years now, I have made do with an old portable TV in my lounge which I only ever switched on to watch the News or the odd film. However, due to increasing pressure from the kids, and the fact that my portable was on its last legs, I decided that I really ought to move with the times and treat myself to something a bit more modern and a bit bigger!
I had a look around, and spotted an advert in the paper for a Tevion 32" widescreen LCD TV with Freeview from Aldi. I was a bit dubious at first as had never heard of the make, and at only £349.99 I didn't think it could be anything very good, but I decided to go and have a look. When I got to the store, they had all sold out. Apparantly people had been snapping them up and they actually had a waiting list for when they came back in stock. I checked out the display model, and it seemed fine, so decided I would take a chance and buy one. I picked it up a few days later.

Description:

The TV was very light for something so big and was very slim with a lovely flat screen. I am a bit of a technophobe, and not sure what all the connections on the back are for, but according to the manual it has HDMI; VGA; CVBS/S-VIDEO, YPbPR; PC AUDIO; AV AUDIO; FULL SCART1; HALF-SCART2; HEADPHONE; ANT; AC POWER.
It is HD ready, has built in Freeview, Nicam stereo, Teletext, and can store up to 99 programs.
It can be wall mounted, although brackets are not provided.

Ease of Use:

The TV was simple to set up, just a case of plugging in and connecting the aerial, pressing a couple of buttons on the remote control to tune it in automatically, and off we go!
The remote control is laid out well and everything is fairly self-explanatory. It comes with an instruction manual which is easy to follow. The product also comes with a 3 year parts and labour warranty and they provide an after sales support helpline and also web support.
I had no problems connecting up my DVD player and the kids' Playstation, everything worked like a dream.
I found it takes a few seconds for the TV to warm up, the picture does not come on instantly like with my old portable.

Quality:

I am really impressed with the quality of the TV. It has a crystal-clear picture, and the sound is sharp. It also looks lovely!

All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase. I find I am now watching a lot more TV - not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing! And the kids are thrilled to bits.
