... lies with the DVD player or SCART lead but I've tried 4 different models of DVD player and 3 different SCART leads and they all do the same thing. I also found a chat group on the Internet where other people have been experiencing the same problem with the same model of TV. Thomson 32 WR 25 ... Thompson compares very favourably in performance with Panosonic, Phillips and Sony all of which are nor expensive. Picture quality is in my opinion better as well. I took quite some time copmparing and contrasting for my own purchase and Thompson won the job. So far I have had no problems in reliablity, the only real problem I can come up with is the arty styled remote which is actually a bit bulky and unattractive, though the light up in the dark feature is quite neat. ... Thomson 32 WF 45 ... The Dolby Pro-logic is outstanding, clear, pin sharp. The bass from the built-in sub rocks! But enough of that, now some bad points..... First, the remote. Aparrently it was created by some designer bod but it is awful to look at and awful to use. It just doesn't fit in your hand properly. (Although, it DOES light up :P) Secondly, there is no 50hz mode. Because of this, you must watch everything in 100hz mode making the picture on some channels grainy and causing motion blurring. All in all, I am totally happy with my purchase. I do notice that the cable picture is somet imes lighter than the normal terrestrial TV but this is due to the actual signal coming from the cable not the TC, and can be altered anyway using the various picture presets available. Or it may be the scart cable which is only a bog standard one. More expensive cables can be bought for around £15-20 that are supposed to improve the quality should you feel the need. I don't!
