When it came to replacing my old TV in the bedroom I was looking for something that would be cheap, easy to set up and reliable. Well two of of three aint bad!
On the first point this certainly is very reasonably priced for what you get. It has a 19 inch flat screen TV, is HD ready, has a built in DVD player and Freeview (ready for the switchover). It is modern looking with a black gloss surrounding and slim line design making it perfect for use in the kitchen or bedroom where space may be limited.
In terms of set-up it was incredibly easy to get started (even for a technophobe like me). It was just a case of plugging in the aerial and following the onscreen instructions. It found all the Freeview channels quickly and displays the strength of each channels signal in %. For signals of less than 85% it recommends upgrading your aerial or getting a signal booster rather than the channel just not working.
Now comes the third and final point and the only problem I've had with the TV, reliabilty. Like most of the newer TV's, the big obvious button on the TV is actually the Standby button not the off switch. The off switch is actually hidden around the back of the TV and it can be very temperamental. Every now and again no matter how many times you flip the switch the TV wont come on. In the end you just have to leave it for a while and come back to it. Not very convenient when you want to put the TV on the morning for just 10-20 minutes or so before going out to work!
All in all I dont regret buying it and when it works it is a really good TV but I wouldnt buy it again. If you need a cheap TV then you could do worse but dont have huge expectations of how long you expect it to last!
