Can Toshiba keep up with bigger brand names ie Sony
Member Name: Callum123
Advantages: Great video quality and resolution with some decent features
Disadvantages: Could have been more ports ie more Hdmi etc
I was looking for decent LCD on the market and not huge in size and price since I was looking to mount it in a custom unit. However I did not want to pay a few pounds for something not worth it.
Toshiba have been making televisions for a good while now and they seem to know how to, now you can get a 22inch LCD flat screen for £200 maximum, cheaper if you shop around thought like I did. Yes you can buy one which bits on paper look similar for half the price but LCD have dropped so much in price, a year or so if this television was made you would pay probably £500.
As I looked at the specifications on Toshiba's website, they seemed to have done pretty well for a 22inch;
-HD Ready, (Not full HD but unless some tech geek sees it I doubt people are going to notice)
-In Built Digital Tuner, (Also known as digi box so you can watch freeveiw and all the free channels which I use and is relatively good)
-HDMI Input, (Personally I love these, they have slowly starting popping up on Lcd now for a while, people with no clue what I am on about it is a special port similar to USB but more expensive which allows you to transmit video and audio from a computer, laptop, gaming console or anything with a hard drive and port to the television so you can watch movies or view pictures from other devices or use the TV as a computer monitor along as your computer has one if not adaption's can be bought for pennies)
Built In DVD Player, (I think bluray is much over rated partly due to the PS3 launch but if you want that tiny bit more quality in blu ray invest in a bluray player around £85 basic or simply as a bluray drive to your computer for £45 and connect the computer to the telle via HDMI)
Slim Line, (This is standard in all LCD really now)
Comes with Dolby Digital sound which is a decent sound quality all thought I ALWAYS advice in getting an amplifier and speakers for surround sound but the sound on the TV is relatively good on its own
You get a quite high 1366*768 resolution which is very good on a 22inch and you can tell it is simply watching one for a second
You get headphone socket, av socket and standard rca sockets at the back to connect to the amplifier for surround sound
Personally I feel Toshiba really could have gone to town a bit more with the port features but you get the standard and can always use cheap adaptions if you want more of different ports.
Can look at standard Jpeg pictures, Mp3 music and has the function of watching Divx movies.
All in all a low price LCD which will exceed expectations with amazing quality at a smaller space and price.
Summary: A low price LCD which will exceed expectations with amazing quality at a smaller space and price
