Advantages: Great picture and sound
Disadvantages: Hard to find power switch until you get used to it!!(if you're dosey like me anyway)
My boyfriend bought me this TV for my bedroom as a surprise Christmas present and wow am I pleased!
I had recently moved out of home and still just had an old portable TV in my bedroom (heavy, big and unsightly). This TV makes my whole room look more up to date and slick as it is big enough without being intrusive and it is all black which looks really sleek and classy.
It comes with freeview built in which is great if you don't want to get Sky and gives you quite a few decent extra channels. When you first switch the television on it will guide you through this process automatically so make sure you do that straight away because I made the mistake of skipping that step and had to follow the instructions from the manual which aren't quite as simple. If, like me, you do accidentally miss the automatic freeview set up, don't worry, you will be able to follow the instrauctions fairly easily, it is just a lot quicker and takes less effort to let the TV set it up itself. The picture is nice and sharp and sound is great.
I hate to admit that I had a few problems finding the power switch at first but eventually discovered you just have to put your hand round the back of the TV on the left and near the bottom and it is there.
I have found that these televisions are extremely reasonably priced as well and sell for around £300.00 at the moment so you can't complain at that price even if the TV wasn't as good quality as it is. Definitely a bargain. You can buy one from Argos or Currys or most other electrical shops and I believe that Carphone Warehouse even give them away for free with certain mobile phone contracts!
Lastly, it is easy to connect to a DVD player to watch DVDs on and when you do the picture quality, again, is great. I first watched The Grinch on it and was really happy with the picture and sound as I was tidying at the same time and still had no problems seeing and hearing the film clearly!
Really pleased with this TV and recommend it to anyone. Great for a bedroom but would be just as suitable for a living room as the main household TV. One very important point I must mention though is that you do need an aerial to be able to get any of the freeview channels on this TV. They are fairly cheap though and I got a great one that takes up hardly any space and cost about £15.00 from Argos so don't let that put you off.
Summary: Great all round TV
