Advantages: Full 1080P HD. Freeview Tuner. Great Picture
Disadvantages: Only 2 HDMI inputs. Sound volume can change slightly in commercials.
This is the most expensive Electrical Appliance that I have ever bought. I paid £799 for it in July 2007 from Currys.
The TV has a 37" screen. It is a Full High Definition television which means it is capable of the best resolution available of 1080p. For those who don't know, this means that it has a maximum of 1080 lines of data being fired across the screen to make up the picture. The P means that this happens progressively. Where you see an I afterwards, the lines are interlaced.
The picture quality in High Definition is excellent. Although as with all HD TVs, you must have a High Def source to get a High Def picture. I have a PS3, Xbox 360 & Sky HD box all connected via a HDMI cable. The picture on all 3 of them is great & I would recommend the TV for all 3 appliances.
The picture quality in standard definition is reasonable, although if you get too close, it seems a little blocky & pixelated. To be fair though, this is the fault of the broadcast signal & not the TV.
Sound is good & clear. There is a simulated surround sound option which works quite well (although not as well as speakers in the right places). Also there is an option which is supposed to equalize the sound volume so that when the adverts come on, they aren't loads louder. This doesn't work too well though & we still sometimes have the problem.
Inputs wise, there are 2 HDMI inputs. I use two switchers to double it up to 4. 2 Scart inputs. Audio out for Surround Sound & AV input for an older games console or a Wii.
The TV also has a freeview tuner built in meaning you won't require a digibox to watch TV. It isn't capable of FreeSat though. It has teletext. The ability to change the aspect of the screen & analogue TV channels which will soon be obsolete.
Overall it is a good TV for a living room & the main household use. Is has everything that you need from a current & future TV. Should you go for this model, you wouldn't need to upgrade your TV inside the next 5 years. I am very happy with it & would recommend it to anyone.
Summary: A greatTrue High Definition TV. A good choice for your main TV
