Recently bought this TV as a set to wall mount in my bedroom. So far have been really impressed with the picture, I have it linked via HDMI cable to my desktop computer so I can play bluray DVDs on it no problem. The picture is very sharp and colours crisp, however you really need to have a HD service to take advantage of this as the inbuilt freeview really doesn't display the pictures as well. There are plenty of connections behind the TV (3 HDMI, component) as well as the ones on the side which is good for me to use as the TV is wall mounted.
My one complaint is that the built in program guide is really rubbish, but to be honest I think most are. It's just quite slow and clunky to use and makes the otherwise sleek tv look quite dated. That is me really looking for faults though as I am really pleased with my purchase as it is a great TV!
I purchased this TV last December and by May the Tv was faulty. The speakers randomly started to make everything distorted even when the sound was very quiet. The only way to fix this was to turn the TV off and then back on and then the sound would work perfectly. The TV also would not hold my HD cables in and they frequently slipped out of the socket. Whether this was an issue with this particular TV or an issue with them all i am unsure as i was not offered a replacement but a refund hence why i then upgraded to the zv635db.
Before these issues arose i was very pleased with the TV as it had a crisp clear picture and the sound was fine. It is a very stylish design and simple to use and assemble. The Tv was quite heavy so make sure you get an apporopriate stand otherwise it will cause your furniture to "bow".
I wouldn't recomend this TV due to the fact mine was faulty within 5 months of use.
The 37XV635DB is an absolute stunner! I bought this TV in June last year, and to be honest is meets all my requirements and more. The 1080pHD display is perfectly clear and the Resolution+ really does help to enhance SD pictures nearly on par with 720pHD. It is eco-friendly and is much much cooler running than the TV in place before it. I have run this for hours and the display never gets hot. The menu is easy to navigate and I believe custom names can be set for the inputs. There is also a Freeview tuner, but I am unable to test this functionality.
A couple of little niggles: It does not support 1080p24 for Blu-Ray playback, but this is unnoticable when watching a film. Also the display doesn't power down over HDMI when my HTPC is put into sleep. Whether this is an issue with the TV or with all TVs I do not know.
Over all this is a great TV for the price, and is totally reliable to use when gaming, browsing the web or watching any form of television.
Our TV broke so needed a new one urgently so I spent a few hours searching the internet ot see what was available and made a list of 3 that I was interested in. I went to the relevant shops to see them and was blown away by the quality of this TV. A brilliant picture coming out at us, and a very good price standing out. Bought in Comet for £435. At home it looks good, sounds good and is a very good TV. I would fully recommend people to buy this TV as they would be as happy as I am.
The picture quality is superb. Everything clear and a good size. The sounds is clear and doesn't need to be on a 'loud' setting as the clarity is so good. The overall look couldn't be a lot better, and at the price we paid I don't see how we could have got a better TV.
We bought this TV to replace our non-HD old fashioned Bush model. We managed to find a bargain display model reduced for quick sale for £300 in an independant TV shop!
We absolutely love it, everything about the TV is exacty what we need. The size is perfect, the swivel base is a fantastic feature, it is easy to use and was incredibly easy to set up. My lesser half also uses it with his Xbox and while he found it quite hard to find the right channel to get a HD picture from this, once he had worked it out he found it easy to use each time.
We do have a slight niggle with the tv though, sometimes when you turn it on you just get a blue screen and hear sound, and you have to turn it on and off again to get the picture showing. It has done this since day one and it being a ex display model we couldnt return it. Perhaps it is because its an ex display model, who knows? But it hasnt got "stuck" on the blue screen yet so we are still very happy with it.
There also isnt a turn off button, it only goes as far as standby, which isnt very energy saving or "green"!
A good quality TV, and great value for money!
